Here are the lectures scheduled for the first semester this year. The lectures are every Monday, from 2pm to 3 pm and are held in room K2.31.

13 October: Richard Willingale, University of Leicester - Catching Gamma Ray Bursts

20 October: John Williamson, University of Glasgow - On the Nature of the Electron and other Particles

27 October: James Pinfold, University of Alberta & King’s College - Maxwell’s Nightmare and Dirac’s Dream - the Hunt for the Magnetic Monopole

3 November: No lecture; Reading Week

10 November: Carl Murray, Queen Mary University of London - A View from Saturn: Images from the Cassini Spacecraft

17 November:  Jeremy Frey, Southampton University - High Harmonic Generation (title TBC)

24 November:  Peter Weightman, University of Liverpool - The Physics of Life

1 December:   Dimitra Darambara, Institute for Cancer Research - Detectors for Medical Imaging

8 December:   David Nunn, Southampton University - Dawn Chorus and Radio Emissions from Space
